  • In the end, the consequences of the suit wound up being a minor annoyance. Just under $25m per owner. They sign bad player contracts for that amount regularly.

St. Louis, by its own admission, doesn't matter to the NFL.
Nature always sides with the hidden flaw.

We will have to repent in this generation not merely for the hateful words and actions of the bad people but for the appalling silence of the good people.

Well, you'd like to think -- like to -- that next time the NFL is intent on fucking a city over, they'll have to stop and at least pretend to try and do it the right way. This suit, if nothing else, should serve as a roadmap for how to slow them down.

If ESK & Demoff didn't talk to the L.A. Times, this suit probably never gets filed.

The lesson is to not brag about your fuckery, at least until the statute of limitations has run.

There’s a ton of stadiums that opened between 1995 and early 2000s so they’ll all be hitting the standard 30 year lease ends later this decade.

Plus with Oakland, San Diego and St. Louis burned they have a lot fewer cities to threaten to move to. London is their only option and it’s not a good one.

Now that this is settled, does Demoff stay employed, and if he's ever shitcanned, does he have anything on Kroenke, or the league to produce a juicy tell all?

No idea. He got hired due to some debt owed to his father.

We have no reason to care. Us Illinoisans aren't permitted to participate in regional infrastructure projects like the dome.

Not at all. This is why I was more intent for it to go to trial, air all the dirty laundry, further drive a wedge into the NFL ranks, and risk receiving nothing.
Now we just receive nothing. That money is vapor, lost in the ether of corrupt systems.

I think the NFL still has to fight over *who* pays into the settlement. And the owners were pretty tight with sharing grievances until this StL thing became a problem. I’d be happy to eat popcorn as they sort out their problems publicly but I’m not totally counting on it. Just hoping.
