  • Anyone been to Universal Studios in LA? If so,

Me and the wife are going to LA in a couple weeks for a few days of fun. I've been to Universal Orlando, the wife hasn't. Is the LA version worth our time. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

My brother in law is a tour minibus driver there. It's OK, I've been many times. Never been to the one in Orlando, though. I'd rather spend time in Disneyland, or Magic Mountain if I was looking for the theme park experience.

          That caught me offguard!

I had a nice, frosty glass of gin and juice when I went on holiday there a few years back.

Especially with that six-fo leaking hydraulic fluid like it does. Repairs on those suckers had me slingin' for a full eight hours.

I have to 2nd what Airshark said. Spend it at Disneyland or Magic Mountain. I have been to both Universal's and the Florida one to me was more commercialized and such, but it is basically the same thing. Only thing I remember different was that the Nick studios were in Orlando.

I went to both as a kid. I don't remember which was better.

What I do remember was that at the one in Orlando, we were waiting in line for whatever the Nickelodeon ride was, and they pulled my brother out of the line to be a guest host on the show "What Would You Do?" that was hosted by Mark Summers (the guy who hosted "Double Dare"). So if you ever watched that show (I never did, other than that one episode), chances are you saw my brother as the guest host and me and my parents sitting in the audience (I think this was 1992 or '93).

I went to Universal Studios in Orlando the month after they opened. I remember that every other ride was broken, and the rides that weren't broken sucked. The Alfred Hitchcock thing was cool though.

I didn't particularly enjoy the "What Would You Do?" experience because I had outgrown Nickelodeon by then (I was 13 or 14) and it took like 2 1/2 hours out of our day.

But my brother enjoyed it and he got his 15 seconds of fame.
