  • "GET UP! GET UP! GET UP! OH, YEAH......"

    "That's what she said."

    --The Office, Mike Shannon edition

Let's see how well Zambrano's anger management lessons took. A five-run first ought to do it.

I always got a chuckle of Mike describing a batters stance.

The guy for the Iowa Cubs, who is otherwise very good, yells, "Bye-bye baseball." Lame.

I like Shannon's home run call just fine as long as it actually is a home run. I can't stand, "GET UP! Nope...."

You must not watch/listen to much baseball outside of St. Louis then...

                It's pretty bad though.

I like that call either way.

I can't imagine anything worse than Bye Bye Baseball.

If I were announcing, I would trade off between, "Elvis has left the building" and "Boom goes the dynamite!"

                    I would be beloved.

i like shannon's call.......and really, i don't know if it's really a "call" that he plans. it sounds like he's willing the ball out of the park. only b/c he doesn't do that every time. when there's a no doubter, he goes "the pitch.....swing, and a homerun to left, 1-0 cards on a bomb by pujols" or something along that lines. he does that, where he calls it with the emotion of a seeing eye single to left.

I would just play this on a Yadi double play...

At least that would be one place you would be.

I would suspect you would be better off reading some of your poetry on the air, you should develop quite the following.
Not sure what sort would be associated with said following...but a following nonetheless.

I agree though, the call is nearly untenable...but then it is Mike Shannon whose primary responsibility is to make sure I do not listen to any Cardinals games on the radio.
