  • Sarah Palin Gender Card

I generally try to take the Jon Stewart show with a grain of salt, it is afterall, for me, more entertainment than anything. But one of my favorite things they do is when they roll clips of the same person talking out each side of their mouth, to what becomes clear, is to purely support an agenda. The affiliation is besides the point, but in this case it is prominent Republican figures scrambling to the rescue of Palin. From talking out against inexperience, parents of pregnant teens, sexism and the race card to all of a sudden, convienently supporting those same issues. I guess they are for flip-flopping after they were against it.

Karl Rove: for state governors with mayoral experience, after he was against it.

Bill O'Reilly: ok with parents of pregnant teens after calling other parents of pregnant teens "pinheads"

Dick Morris: against sexism after being sexist

Nancy Pfotenhauer: for playing the gender card after against playing the gender card

There are all kinds of right wing conservative republican groups with names like christian conservatives for family values that have BITCHED to high heaven for ever about pregnant single teens and how they are the downfall of our society, but they think Palin's situation is a wonderful example of Sarah's belief in the sanctity of life.

Let me guess... it's one of the 7,200 replies in the McCain's VP Pick thread? I did a search for it prior to posting.

I thought it was worth it's own topic. I heard the Karl Rove portion on the radio this morning and just sat there at my desk and shook my head.

They did the same thing to Cheney regarding Iraq's ties to Osama Bin Laden where he in one interview insisted there to be a connection and then in another interview (after the war went sour) adamently denied that he ever put such a crazy idea in our heads. The second person interviewing him even said to him (paraphrasing), "On [this date] you said in an interview [these words]." Cheney was like "No I didn't. No I didn't. No I didn't." And Stewart played the actual video interview of Cheney actually making the false accusations.

Good GOD, the Republicans contradicted themselves in clips edited cleverly by the Daily Show! Time to crawl under your blankets and hide... oh my!

This is what gets me about BOTH PARTIES. No acknowledgment that every politician does the same exact thing. I mean, certainly Obama is above this.... right?!?!?!

Yaks, serious question -- yes, just this once:

Is there any legitimate reason for anyone to vote Republican?

Wait until the inaugural. It'll be a rainy, shitty day....and then as soon as Jesus walks forth onto the platform, the sun will burst through the clouds and rainbows will criss-cross the sky. Children will dance. Men will sing. Women will have multiple orgasms.

No, you sniveling reptile. NO DEMOCRAT DOES ANYTHING EVEN REMOTELY LIKE THIS.
