My wife was admitted to the hospital today after experiencing facial drooping and right sided numbness. They think it is Bells Palsy but have not ruled out anything related to stroke until we get an MRI and an MRA.

I just want to know when the shit is going to stop...

If it's Bell's that:

1. Sucks, because it can last a few weeks to a month and make your face look a little funny, but

2. It goes away and you're fine and your facial muscles return to normal.

A co-worker of mine had it a few years ago. It wasn't too big a deal after the initial fright of it and getting it diagnosed and treated correctly.

I had Bell's Palsy a while back. My face was numb and droopy on the right side. I was lucky because it only lasted 3 or 4 months. It freaked me out at first, but turned out to be a minor inconvenience.

Poor girl needs some good news.
