  • The Fantasy Football "Should I Make This Deal" thread.

Since the other thread I started on the subject of FFL is mostly a lineups and matchups and injury status thing, I started a new one to bounce Fantasy trades around.

    Here's my current situation:

I'm in a 10-man league, one that heavily rewards good QB play. QB's get a full six points for a passing touchdown, and we start TWO QB's each week.

    That said, I have:

    1. Peyton Manning
    2. Philip Rivers
    3. Brett Favre
    4. Trent Edwards

I also have the following RB's. We start two, and can use a third in a flex:

    1. Willie Parker
    2. Marshawn Lynch
    3. Thomas Jones
    4. Chris Perry

Parker's hurt this week. It's a knee. That scare me. One of the guys in our league is heavy on RB's, light on QB's.

    Trade proposal he offered:

    Frank Gore for Peyton Manning

I'm *really* inclined to push the button on that. Thoughts?

I'd do it. If/when Parker comes back, you could then package him with one of your other QB's for another QB upgrade.

Do it. I think Gore is going to have a really good year, especially if this is a PPR league...

Not to mention Phillip Rivers might just be a top 5 QB this year.

Yeah, I keep thinking Philip can carry Edwards/Favre in the second QB spot, too.

No. If your league heavily rewards the QB position, then you have to keep your 2 best QB's.

Edwards will have a big week this week, but both Edwards and Favre are just going to be middle of the pack this year.

I'd offer him Favre or Edwards for a middle tier back, or go get Rudi Johnson on waivers.
From this day forward, I no longer shall tinker with the machinery of death.

For more than 20 years I have endeavored-indeed, I have struggled-along with a majority of this Court, to develop procedural & substantive rules that would lend more than the mere appearance of fairness to the death penalty endeavor.

I feel morally and intellectually obligated simply to concede that the death penalty experiment has failed.

The path the Court has chosen lessens us all. I dissent.

Nah, rather have Gore right now with Parker injured than Manning.

Because of the crazy bye week this week, one of the guys in our league had to waiver Marques Colston. I know Colston's out for 4-6 weeks with that thumb thing, but when he comes back he's a worthy starter for a team that's fairly shallow on WR talent, right? Worth grabbing him now and keeping him on ice for a payoff down the line if I can easily make room on my roster?

It's raining in New York FWIW. Not sure if that helps or hurts Kurt.

                            Here's one for you:

I was offered Santana Moss and Fred Taylor for Joseph Addai. Standard fantasy scoring.
                            Rest of my team:
                            QB: Palmer/Warner
                            RB: Forte/McFadden
                            WR: Boldin/Braylon Edwards/Coles/Galloway

                            Wouldja?

I am 2-2. Middle of the pack. I think he is trying to take advantage of Addai's slow start.
