did i miss something when i set up my network...is there anything I need to do to boost my signal strength? I've got a 108 router and a 54 card, but it's only running on 36...what gives?
    Are you on the list?

where is the access point (router) and where is the laptop or desktop?

I mean there could be interference between you and the AP like microwaves or lead paint or stuff like that.

Can get a signal booster like this:

My access point is downstairs and my son's desktop and daughter's notebook have no problem accessing the signal anywhere in the house.

I'm using a Linksys access point from EBay that I bought 2 years ago.
And, frankly, it has never occured to me that "winning" a debate is important, or that I should be hurt when someone like Airshark or kah, among others (for whom winning a pseudo debate or declaring intellectual superiority over invisible others is obviously very important) ridicule me.

          SLUBLUE -

          nothing between these two?

30 feet and you getting a poor signal strength. Strange.

Move closer and see if the signal strength improves or not. Could be a bad product or some interference from somewhere.

Are you wearing an aluminum foil hat to keep the government from reading your thoughts? If so, take that off.

Try nice music, some wine and a good meal. Otherwise the only thing that may work will be therapy, or an ethernet wire

                        Speaking of wi-fi...

Is it easy to install and implement a access point?

Most have a browser-based interface, so yes, they are fairly easy to install/implement.
