It's September. We all know what that means! The Cubs will fall apart.
Let's chronicle all the bad things that have happened and will happen to the Cubs in September 2008, thus proving CUBS is actually the acronym bearing this thread's title.
9/2 Zambrano leaves game after 5 innings, claiming he has a sore arm.
9/3 Rich "DL" Harden lasts only five innings against the Phillies, his velocity noticeably down. Pinella calls it "arm discomfort". Other media reports call it "soreness". He's removed for the rotation for what is expected to be 12 days of rest. Meanwhile, Chad Guadin (the backup in the Harden deal), has these numbers at Wrigley Field: 6.89 ERA, 1.66 WHIP, .323 Opp Avg. In 12 starts.
