  • Fan tossed out of game for taking a pee-pee break

Apparently there is a "rule" that everyone has to stand and observe "God Bless America" at Yankee Stadium. A guy tried going to the bathroom and was tossed out of the stadium for violating the rule

        No way.

How is this the first time it's ever happened or been publisized?
        Of course you do.

Makes me wonder if that is a rule at any other ballpark or if it is during the national anthem too. If that is the case then I should have been tossed out of every venue I have been in.

I went to 2 games at Yankee Stadium last year and don't remember them observing God Bless America, and as much as I admire the song, and that I do believe in God, I don't believe the song belongs at sporting events.

I see the song as it partains to sports as the religious right trying to impose itself amongst sports fans, most of whom go to sporting events to get away from all things on the outside, including religious persuasion.

The lyrics to Take Me Out To The Ballgame fit perfectly to the tune of God Bless America

Oh, I remember that because I'm fortunate to have gone when Harry was still here to sing, instead of the cavalcade of assclowns who get paraded in, and it was in 1987, before the lights.

Why is it that FOX, et al will cut away from the start of the game just prior to the national anthem, for one more whoring of ad time, but then bow down & televise the new 7th inning stretch, the singing of God Bless America?

If I need to take a piss, or get a beer, that should be my right.

I go to church on Sunday.....!!
