So I bought a couple of laptops this weekend, for my law partner and I. His will be primarily used from home, but the plan for mine is to replace my 8 year old computer at work. My network at work has a Dell server, and all computers operate on Windows XP. I have been told that Vista will screw up the network, so I bought Windows XP a month ago. Should I put XP on my laptop, and if I do, are there precautions of which I should be aware? Additionally, will it wipe out all the software already loaded onto the machine?

My wife does this all the fucking time, and I'm forever correcting her, yet she's the collegiate.
BTW, I hated English, routinely failed, yet my father was an English teacher.

If it were my computers: I'd just format the hard drive and re-install XP on it...that "free" software is just a space killer on drives...

You're welcome. From this day forward, I no longer shall tinker with the machinery of death.
For more than 20 years I have endeavored-indeed, I have struggled-along with a majority of this Court, to develop procedural & substantive rules that would lend more than the mere appearance of fairness to the death penalty endeavor.
I feel morally and intellectually obligated simply to concede that the death penalty experiment has failed.
The path the Court has chosen lessens us all. I dissent.
