    How Fast is My Cable Modem?

    I'm tiring of getting hosed by Comcast (I live south of Nashville TN) to the tune of 57/mo plus tax for my inet, non bundled, service. I want to find out how fast my modem is as I consider the switch to alternate providers.

    ATT says they can offer DSL at up to 6 Mbps/512 Kbps. How do I find out how must faster my cable modem actually is?

          That means you're currently getting 5.43 mb/sec downloads and 350 kb/sec uploads.

          Your upload speed is a little light, but that's a solid 5 mb connection there.

            It's fine. That speed is more then enough for 99% of usage. You're more held back by the other than anything. I have speeds twice as fast on paper, but I don't notice much of a real world difference.
