  • So it's about anniversary time...

...and since the wife and I never really do much for it, we've decided to kick out the jams this year. We bought each other new rings (I had to fill out paper work and legal shit for hers, she threw a couple bills to the girl at the register and told her to keep the change). Now we're looking to spend that weekend (1 AUG) in Chi-Town to see Wicked again (she slept through it when I took her for her birthday after working two consecutive doubles and being up for 48+ hours). I'm breaking one of my cardinal rules and actually getting a nice hotel room which is making me cringe. We're planning on driving up Friday, seeing Wicked at 2 p.m. Saturday and driving back Sunday. Question is, other than the museums and whatnot, what are some recommendations for the weekend? No sports, 'cause I could give a shit about baseball...

    I'll hang up and listen...

How closely are you planning on copying Jeffro's romantic weekend in Chicago? Will you be bringing a man to have sex with?
If you believe in something sacrifice a hobo to it or don't bother.

Well, Turd and Celtic said they wanted to come along. What does "three-way rusty trombone" mean?

I was gonna take my son up this week (until I lost my job), I was just gonna do a full day at the museum and aquarium.
Be passionate about what you believe in, or why bother.

I wouldn't trust that Turd fellow.

I was there a few weeks back and we hit The Shed Aquarium which was really cool, but really crowded. (went on a Sunday). I've always wanted to go to the Planetarium there but haven't done so yet.

Navy Pier so she can spend some of your money.

It's only fair, she has to sleep with you.

She's spent enough of my money this week. I'm looking for the cheap...

The Museum of Industry and Technology (or something like that) is pretty neat. I loved the Museum of Natural History. The Art Institute is cool, but not cheap per se. All of those would qualify as decent day time activities, as would a boat tour on the Chicago River.

If you're looking for something to do at night, B.B. Kings usually has some good music and you can check out the House of Blues. Also you should see what kind of public events -- fairs, festivals, etc. -- are going on.
On my mind: How can I shut up the singing English graduate student? How many more lossess will KU's basketball team have than its football team? How will the Rams front office screw up this year?
