I think Mizzou will have 11 of the top 15 when it's all said and done. Pretty damn impressive considering Pinkel probably knew he wouldn't land Scheelhasse and he didn't offer Webb. I think we'll land Wingo and Bryant (if he decides to quit playing basketball.......which I'm not sure he intends to do).

I would've liked Evans, but he seemed to be in love with OU from the get-go. Hard to argue with any kid going there (or Wisconsin), but it always hurts when a Missouri kid goes to a rival. Oh well.....

The Ashton Glaser kid they recently got the commit from (Arkansas QB) just won the Top Gun QB Challenge. Sounds like he's the real deal (and the #1 HS QB in the state). He, Dalton, and Gabbert are going to have fun gunning for the top spot in replacing Chase. I don't see how a stud doesn't emerge. Virtually impossible.

Montee Ball from Timberland is the shit. I made him my Suburban Journals male athlete of the year last year when I worked for them. I covered his team his sophomore year and his stats were sick: almost 2,000 yards on the ground and more than 20 TDs and average five tackles per game as a LB. The only problem he's going to have is that he's short (5'7"). Amazing athlete.

I hope the Webb kid turns out to be good. KU is offering like 20 high school quarterbacks this year though and I think they're planning on moving most of them to different positions. I've heard an analyst suggest that Scheelhaast's best position in college is also probably WR, not QB. Anyone have any sense if that's true?
On my mind: How can I shut up the singing English graduate student? How many more lossess will KU's basketball team have than its football team? How will the Rams front office screw up this year?

That's a main reason why he and Missouri have never seemed to be a fit. He wants to play QB but many schools think he would be better elsewhere.

I've seen two of the players in the top 5, Wingo and Scheelhaase.

Not to say that I'm this football talent guru, but Wingo impressed me. Sometimes at the high school level you see kids that have great success at the high school level, but you can tell that they likely won't come close to replicating that success at the next level. The way Wingo looks out on the field reminds me of Ronnie Brown or Cadillac Williams when they were at Auburn, probably closer to Brown considering the size of him.

The week before I saw Scheelhaase play, I was told that a lot of people say he resembles Brad Smith as a quarterback. After seeing him play, I agreed with that assessment. I don't remember anything about his passing ability, but looking at some stats I saw and what I remember, if he plays QB at the college level it will be as a Brad Smith type QB who runs a lot.

Just a disclaimer: I'm not suggesting that either of these players are necessarily at the ability level or will become as good as the three players I used a comparisons. The just remind me of them from body type and playing style.
