He's not Black so it doesn't count.

Only Black people who say things that could be considered condescending are called on it.

      It's cool.

And like Bush - none of that guys friends are in a recession so it doesn't count.

Damn, if I'd said that, Celtic would be on me like white on a klan robe.

Celtic and I are Black Irish Brothers who one brother happens to be White - It's like that movie that was made in Boston -

We can talk about each other - but never take sides against the family.

In all seriousness Kev - Celtic is a very good guy. He can be a little rough on you - but I tend to stay out of those fights.

He never really means to offend - and I actually appreciate the way he goes about his business.

I really think you and he would be okay with two cold ones.

            Fair enough.

I just happen to grow up as a young kid in a racially segregated south. I remember seeing the hurt and horror. I find zero humor in racial jokes.

Kev - you have zero tolerance for people who abuse others -
You are one of the first to post articles about child abuse or spousal abuse or abuse of any kind.

I don't see anything wrong with what you do -

The fact that this is a message board allows people to say some things they really don't mean at all. I don't think they really mean offense as much as being a wise ass.

Fucking stupid thing to say politically and also wrong. Our economic problems are very real even they have not yet manifested themselves yet in terms of two consecutive quarters of negative growth...that could easily be around the corner.

                        TTB,

Consider the source. I've never been a fan of Gramm. He's always presented himself as a smug jackoff.

Never paid much attention to him myself.

I did like the Gramm-Rudman Balanced Budget Act bill though. We would be better off today had we passed that.

McCain adviser Gramm quits after 'whiners' remarks

By DEVLIN BARRETT, Associated Press Writer 12 minutes ago

NEW YORK - Former Texas Sen. Phil Gramm resigned Friday from his role as GOP presidential candidate John McCain's campaign co-chairman, hoping to quiet the uproar that followed his comments that the United States had become a "nation of whiners" whose constant complaints about the U.S. economy show they are in a "mental recession."

Gramm, a past presidential candidate, made the remarks more than a week ago. McCain immediately distanced himself from the comments, but they brought a steady stream of criticism just as McCain is trying to show he can help steer the country past its current financial troubles.

Gramm said in a statement late Friday that he is stepping down to "end this distraction."

"It is clear to me that Democrats want to attack me rather than debate Senator McCain on important economic issues facing the country," Gramm said. "That kind of distraction hurts not only Senator McCain's ability to present concrete programs to deal with the country's problems, it hurts the country. To end this distraction and get on with the real debate, I hereby step down as co-chair of the McCain campaign and join the growing number of rank-and-file McCain supporters."

Gramm made the comment to The Washington Times and later explained that he was talking about the nation's leaders not the American people. Democrats claimed at the time that the Gramm comments showed that McCain is out of touch with voters' concerns over high gas prices, the struggling housing industry and the shaky economy in general.

The campaign of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama said Gramm's departure will make little difference to McCain's economic policies.

"The question for John McCain isnt whether Phil Gramm will continue as chairman of his campaign, but whether he will continue to keep the economic plan that Gramm authored and that represents a continuation of the polices that have failed American families for the last eight years," said Obama campaign spokesman Hari Sevugan.
