Then that must be Venus, 'cause Serena's a little more chocolaty.

There was a time I really got into the tennis Grand Slams. Now, I didn't even know this was on.

I can remember staying up late while still in school watching old man Conners make his US Open run. Now the only reason I watch tennis is to see what kind of hot ass is over on the women's side.

I'm a big Federer fan but one thing I'm not sure he has is a never-say-die attitude. I always loved Sampras, Becker, Connors and the 1995 or so onward Agassi because those were four guys who always seemed to be really determined when they fell behind. They really were never out until it was over. When Federer gets into a big hole, he seems to get frustrated and his body language is terrible. It's like he's so used to just crushing opponents that he has no idea how to dig deep when facing serious adversity. The third set at Roland Garros was probably the best example of this, when he got shutout by Nadal.

I have to say, this is one thing I'm concerned about as his career goes forward and he eventually isn't the best player in the world (or in the top two, which he unquestionably is right now). Sampras, Agassi, Becker and others could will their selves to victory and I'm not sure that Federer has the sort of mental makeup to do that.

I find myself watching more golf and tennis as opposed to non-Cardinal baseball these days.

Sharapova showing up in some fucking tuxedo outfit with shorts instead of a short skirt, and renting a house at wimbledon with some needy actress named Bella kind of ruined it for me. I was not surprised when she got beat early---giving her the free time she seemed to want so much.

Looks like Nadal might be replacing Federer as the top player on the mens side.

Not so fast. Federer wins two consecutive tie break sets. This is a good match.
