Saw it this afternoon. Not nearly as funny as I thought it would be, but I was still entertained. It's as much of a drama as it is a comedy. Tough to give you a full review w/o including spoilers. I liked it, but did not love it. I'd give it 3 stars out of 5.

    Have a happy 4th.

Seen some crappy reviews. Too bad.
Good premise, poorly executed seems to be the tone of the reviews.

I convinced my wife to watch it...it sucked.

Not even the hottness of Charlize Theron could save this POS

I'm in agreement with Far's post. It wasn't anything that blew me away, but I didn't think it was horrible either. It was alright. I have seen a lot worse.

First half was really good, especially the French child abuse. Second half kinda sucked.

Smith has already mentioned some people he'd like to work with in Hancock 2.

I expected more hero type events.

IMO, it's more about how the movie was advertised. There’s not a sign of "the twist" in any of the trailers that I have seen (duh - or it wouldn't be a twist). I think it is fair to say that 95% of the scenes in the trailers occur in the first half of the movie.

So what's the age appropriateness for this movie. Someone said there's a lot of vulgarity in the movie - true or no?

I saw some kids that were probably 4 and 6 at this movie last night. They had an older sister that was probably 9-10ish. I don't even know what it is rated but I would not take kids that age to it. They will call other kids "asshole" a lot as that was a big line in the movie. If they are teenagers (14-15), then I would say it is ok for them.

I took my 8 year old to it. That was probably a mistake. But I took his two older brothers as well, so it wasn't like I could leave him out.
