      that is pretty funny.

that said, what's wrong with thinking outside of the box? personally i have long believed the reason we havent had a decent president in about 20 years and maybe one other decent president in about 120 years is that the job is underpaid. the president of the united states should be the highest paid executive in the world if we expect to get the best chief executive officer in the world.

mccain is only appealing to the same thinking. offer the reward and who knows what might come of it.

He has the people who helped ENRON fuck everyone over working for him. I wish they would talk about it more.

McCain or no other politician resulted in Enron. It didn't matter what they did Enron was going to do their thing. This Enron law or whatever they called it was a small drop in the bucket to what allowed them to play their shell game.

It took political accomplices for Enron to steal $300 million from CT taxpayers.

Enron would buy power generation facilities in CT and CT would buy the power generated back from Enron. CT paid for decades worth of electricity up front and never saw a dime. This was under Rowland well before he resigned in disgrace (so he was at the height of his influence peddling). He was also head of the Republican Governor's Association at the time. It only took Enron an $80,000 investment in the RGA to see that $300 mil return.

Chump change compared to what they did to California ...
                Damn these electric sex pants!

                26+31+34+42+44+46+64+67+82+06 = 10

The good old summer of 2001. I think I still have some bonus money in the bank from all those crazy profits. Good times.

The business with California was one of the smaller innovative items that brought down Enron. The big killer was the web of off balance sheet transactions which included Fastow's companies he set up to make him and his friends rich.

While it is always fun to hammer on McCain and other evil Republicans 99% of Enron's dirty acts came during the Clinton administration. At the end it didn't matter what politician was doing what. Enron took advantage of a brand new industry by dancing in the gray and bending every single rule until those rules broke.

In the Rowland case, it came down to accountability and favors for kickbacks.

If you want to "blame" anything, it's the system that needs fixin.

Privatized elections = legalized corruption. And creates somewhat of a one-party system
