I didn't see a "new arm slot" last night.

He didn't look comfortable warming up in the bullpen.

He was throwing 91 mph last night but i'm sure that is not going to last probably because it was due to adrenaline and his first time out there.

I say that he is going to go back on the disabled list due to shoulder discomfort, or he is going to start getting rocked and the club will not have any choice but to DFA him. He's not going to stay on this team.

I'm not buying into all the excitement either. He had a nice outing last night and I am happy for him.

But I expect a bed shitting in his future.

He didn't look comfortable? He was fine and the arm angle has dropped...

So what were you watching again?

The way the media made it sound like, Mulder's new arm slot was more sidearm, it looked last night that he's still throwing like he used to.

We've already gotten three more outs out of him than I ever thought we would, so anything else is gravy. At least he threw strikes. More than you could say for Flores lately.

He's not as over the top as he once was...he's approaching his delivery that acts like more of a whip or in line with his shoulder blade...

Hershiser definitely liked what he saw...said he looked more free than he's seen him in quite some time...

Is he back? Well, no he's not...a long stint in the pen gives him the opportunity to work up his confidence in his delivery and provides less of a chance for him to "shit the bed"...

And I see little chance of them just designating him for assignment...they'll likely just play the DL game and let him walk in the offseason...

Dear God, KBF here. I'd just like to say thanks, once again, for allowing Dusty Baker and I to live during the same time period. Every time I think he's given me his last gift -- overpitching Prior in the playoffs, getting cocky in Game 6 vs. the Angels, blowing another game for the Cubs -- he does something stupid like pitching to Albert Pujols. Thy will be done, baby!!!!!

Explain why you think this? I saw the entire sequence on ESPN and they showed him throwing in the pen as well. He looked more free and easy than I've seen him pitch in years.

ESPN turned the last two innings into Mark Mulder Theatre...almost made me think they had an iso-cam on him

Well, it was pretty much the ONLY reason for people to keep watching. And the producers of that game knew full well how important that outing was for Cards fans. I give them credit for that. It kept me tuned in when I normally may have turned the game off at that point.

He had a good outing last night. It is one day at a time, so if he goes out there and throws three or four good games in a row, then good for him.
However, i just don't see it happening. i'm making the prediction more just for the hell of it and because it stirs a discussion.
