          ++

          I keep saying I'm going to take my son down there for the fireworks only but it's such a bitch to get in and out of there.

            I prefer the Alton celebration.

              Aren't they having a bunch of weekends though? Or something.
              When you say to your neighbor, "We're having a loud party on Saturday night if that's alright with you," what you really mean is, "We're having a loud party on Saturday night."

                  The Strassenfest was.

                        Apparently it's become too costly for the city. However it may move to O'Fallon Mo.

                          They should keep Strassenfest downtown but just, I don't know, maybe not schedule it for the hottest month of the year.

                          I believe that a good chunk of the money allocated for Fair St. Louis is now spent on the Live on the Levee free concert series, which is a much better idea, IMO.

                            Amlung was upset St. Louis could not work with Strassenfest to reduce costs, being that the festival helps charities.

                            "It's just one more black eye for the city of St. Louis," Amlung said.

                              We took my son to the fair once - he had such a miserable time that he asked to leave before the fireworks went off. We've since settled for the O'Fallon or St. Charles celebrations.
                              If you believe in something sacrifice a hobo to it or don't bother.
