  • Lets talk about the bible

What is your most inspiring book/chapter/verse?

I need to do a better job of reading it.

I've heard Matthew 8-9 is good stuff, Revelations is good. I'm sure i'm missing a bunch.

    Lets hear it.

        You obviously haven't read Acts...

Song of Solomon (sometimes called the Song of Songs).

It's not very long. Go read it.

Everytime i call my 87 year old uncle, he asks me what part of the bible did i read, and everytime i tell him that i haven't i know he's disappointed and im disappointed in myself too. It wouldn't take much time to do either. I've got some extra time coming up here with my job so i'm going to promise myself to make a more concerted effort to start reading.

In the meantime, keep those detailed posts coming.

Seriously -- just start at the beginning of the NT and keep going.

start in John.. then expand to the other gospels. after that, move to Acts.. and then for deeper theology read Romans.

a chapter in Psalms or Proverbs mixed in here and there is some good stuff..

The King James translation of John has some fabulous poetry.

oh yes.. also get a readable translation... not KJV.

The New Living is a good translation. NIV is also easy to read and very well respected.
