        Jim McKay, 86, a longtime television sports journalist, has died in Maryland, after a long illness, according to a statement from the family.

            A couple of years back HBO had a nice documentary on his life. I'm sure they will be playing it again soon.

                      NBC has them, so you probably wouldn't have heard from him anyway...but I certainly hope NBC does give him a mention during their coverage.

                            ABC had "lent" McKay's services to NBC a few times since they grabbed the rights to the Games...

                              Only once I'm aware of, the 2002 winter games...and that was only because it was in the US and McKay requested it. He's been sick so long there was no chance he'd be involved with the upcoming Olympics.
