    Anyone have any plans?

I have narrowed my trip in August to......

Chicago.....want to go to wrigley finally, navy pier, sears tower, etc.

NY....Yankee stadium, statue of liberty, times square, etc....

Phoenix......grand canyon, petrified forest......been before want to go again

    Frisco...alcatraz, gate bridge, etc

    Seattle.....no idea why.....

    Orlando.....

Leaning towards NY but it might be 1500 bucks to do most of what I want there. Never been to the city and was looking for advice. Where to stay? It seems all those damn hotels there dont have breakfasts. Guess they are too damn fancy for that.

Any advice on what to do in Chicago? I'm sure by driving up there I could save and cut the costs instead of going to NYC.

Any suggestions on a nice little 5-7 day trip?

NY is nice, I'd suggest staying in Manhattan. I've stayed at the Grand Hyatt next to GC Station as well as the Hilton, both nice...about $150/night, which is pretty cheap in NYC.

There is so much to do and see there...

However, I'd pick San Francisco over NYC. You can visit Alcatraz, the many Piers, take a wine tour into Napa, drive along the PCH to Big Sur..Carmel by the Sea is just amazing.

My softball team is going to the Fastpitch World Series in Minnesota in August. The wife and I are going to Chicago in September for a few days for our anniversary. Hoping to catch a Cards/Cubs game. I think we're going to take the train to Chicago. $88 round trip total for the both of us.

I was off the last two weeks for vacation, and I am off this coming week, not doing anything except taking it easy.

                    Louisville, KY for a week.

Laugh, but the reason we are going there is because between my family and my step-sons' family, who live in Kentucky, we have people to dump our kids on. That will enable the wife and I to enjoy some Louisville night life and go out to eat and not have to worry about whiny kids.

Might I suggest a walk across the Camino del Rey over the Garganta del Chorro in Antequera, Andalucia?

Make sure the bridges are safe enough to drive on in Minneapolis.
