  • Cardinals v. tampa bay rays

I was in Tampa this past week. Newspapers couldn't stop exploding with comments about how good the Rays were, and how few people were coming to see them play. Can we put them in their place?

We shall see, but the newspapers there should be exploding. They are playing good ball.

Whoa. Is interleague play starting earlier this year?
        Of course you do.

They are such a red headed step child of the Yankees......

I read an interesting story about the Rays playing home dates in Disneyland. Whatever stadium they have there only seats like 7,000 people--but it's the fucking Rays, so that's enough.

It will be interesting to see if they FINALLY start to draw if this is not a mirage, and if, say, they're within hailing distance of the wild card in August.

Last night they only had 13,000 people at the Rays game. Against the Yankees, no less.

              That was a little surprising.

That means there were 11,000 Yankee fans at that game.

Heh, the way it looked, there didn't seem to be a whole lotta Yankee fans there.

Well when your teams been in the league for 10 years, never won more than 70 games in a season, and have finished dead last 9 of those years, people tend to not care about the team I would assume.

It's going to take more than 6 good weeks of baseball to bring fans in there. Most prob figure they will just end up tanking as the year goes on.

Why would they go all the way to California to play "home" games?

With the way the Cards are playing these days, chances are they will put us in our place.
