Domination. If you're a Cubs fan, how bitter are you about this?

I remember it well. He was making guys miss by a foot with that nasty slider/curve he used to throw.

Check out the 20th strikeout, by Derek Bell. He didn't come even that close.

He was throwing fucking wiffle balls up there.

        Absolutely incredible.

It is actually sad that Wood, Prior and Ankiel never reached their potential. They could have been the best of their era.

I remember catching the last two or three innings on television (WGN?) and it was just silly...

And you're right: imagine the battles if all three of them produced as promised...crazy

Reynolds had 10 Ks for the Astros

the last strikeout is just an unbelieveable pitch. he had other pitches in that highlight reel where the ball breaks twice. he was making the astros look like monkeys at the plate.

That last pitch to end the game was disgusting.

Imagine that '04 team with Ankiel at the front of the rotation.

that was the NL record for most combined strikeouts in a 9 inning game

31 is the all-time record: Texas vs Seattle 1997

I know he was probably destined for trouble with his motion anyway, but yeah, I'm pretty bitter. If I make it to any Reds/Cards games this year I'll be sure to throw some boos at Dusty for old times' sake. Asshole.

I'm sure Dusty deserves it, but he wasn't Wood's manager in 98.

Big deal. The Astros strike out all the time.

I remember that day because it was the same day I took the CPA exam. The first thing I did when I got back to my car was check the score. Not sure what gave me a bigger headache, the test or the game.
