  • Fantasy Baseball Trade Question

Typical 5x5 league with 12 teams. I have no closers on my roster.

I'm about to offer A-Rod and Beltran to another owner for H. Ramirez, Saito and Brian Wilson. Is this a fair trade or not?

So you think I'm giving up too much?

I would never trade one of the best players in the game for a closer...

If you don't have a closer at the outset, you pick him up off the waiver wire and since it's a 5x5, it's only one category...

Okay, but I'm very low in steals as well. Also, I am getting 2 closers here, so I'm not trading one of the best players for just a closer.

Still wouldn't do it, especially when of those "closers" is Brian Wilson...I'd rather have Acosta in ATL...

You're giving up a lot, but I think it's an equitable deal although I would say you are taking more of a chance. Even with his quad troubles, Arod will have a great year barring something more serious injury wise. Beltran has started slowly, but that is not odd over the past few years. Here is my thoughts on what you will be giving up vs. what you will get back.

              Beltran
              90 Runs
              30 HR
              105 RBI
              .270 AVG
              20 SB

              ARod
              120 Runs
              130 RBI
              40 HR
              .300 AVG
              15 SB

              for

              Ramirez
              130 Runs
              100 RBI
              35 HR
              .315 AVG
              50 SB

              Saito
              6 Wins
              38 Saves
              2.65 ERA
              1.05 WHIP
              100 KO

              B Wilson
              3 Wins
              33 Saves
              3.00 ERA
              1.30 WHIP
              60 KO

All my estimates only based on projections and averages, but something to give you an idea of what you're dealing with since you asked. Good luck with your season.

Those are predictions from the beginning of the season. We're already at May 1 so one sixth of the season is gone.

Okay, what would you think if I took Adam Dunn from him instead of Brian Wilson?

Why would you do it then, to land one closer?

Go get some middle relievers.......heath bell, accardo (though he sucks), etc because these guys could be closers soon. Plus they can help out.

                          So question........

Whenever the Bally/sox game from monday night is completed...its been suspended......when do the stats count?

On the day its completed or will fantasy stats revert back to Monday april 28th?

Basically I am wondering when those stats will be applied to which matchup. I think this happened last year and it reverts back and retroactively adds the scores to when the game started.

I think Hanley Ramirez is the best fantasy baseball player alive in a keeper league, and pretty close to the best in all other leagues. Those numbers are ridiculous.

You're doing yourself a favor kicking Beltran to the curb.

I think you want a bit more than Brian Wilson (famous for lying in bed) coming back as the third player, otherwise I have no problem with this trade at all.
