they shouldn't have gotten rid of the cabins out back. That place was fun back when.

I'd actually like to hear more aboot it...just missed getting a chance to go there before Lester Miller rehabbed it...

Guess this was expected after all the extravagant shit he put in there (you really $1700 door handles, Lester?)

the last time we ate in the cabins, I didn't think the vichyssoise was very good, but I was willing to go back and try it again. But then they tore the cabins down and I never wanted to go back.

This was back in 1988 when they still had the cabins. I believe that the men's bar had gone co-ed by then as well.

No offense to anyone who liked the place, but God Damn they had a fucking old clientèle. I mean, there were customers who ate there every Tuesday night for the last 40 years! And they'd had the same waiter! There were more than a few waiters who were lifers - been there 30+ years. I mean, damn!

As a place to work it was boring as hell. Old people gumming overdone steak. Waiters in their late 60s. Woo-hoo!

Ahhh yes...The Flaming Pit...nothing like the smell of burner fuel knocking you over once you walked into the place...

Corner of Clayton Rd. and Price. White building. Looks like an old plantation house.
