Boston- New York.. Hate each other, you can say this about other long time rivalries in the MLB but do the cubs and cards share this. Yes we do hate them and a lot of their fans are just crass as hell but there is a mutual respect for each other, I think. Personally I have many friends that are cub fans (and from chi-town) and we dog each other all the time about it but, at the end, we can say good game we will get you next time. Don't get me wrong I want to see the cards destroy the cubs every game, I can't stand the cubs.. but I respect them.

    Anybody else?

that is a good rivalry as well, although NY-Boston/SL-Chicago are more vitriolic.

hah I wouldn't call Cards/Cubs vitriolic. If Red Sox/Yankee's had the crowd ratio's that Cards/Cubs had, there would be riots and death. Besides, Cardinalgirl proves it. (i kid, i kid)

Hating the Cubs is like hating Timmy Lupus. You can't hate them...you just feel sorry for them...in a way that gives you a warm feeling inside when they fail.

I take the rivalry pretty much good-naturedly, but the only 2 teams I hope lose every one of their freakin' games is the Cubs and the rock chalk chickenhawks.........

What is there to respect about the Cubs?
You're being fucking dramatic. You own a TV and an air mattress. That's not exactly what I'd call "a lot to lose."

I'd hang out with Cubs fans... Mets fans on the other hand it would be difficult.

Cubs fans will always point out when they are winning. When they shit the bed, they are quieter than a church mouse.

I think fan anger toward each other is greatest in Giants-Dodgers. There have been murders committed in both cities of fans wearing the opposing team's colors.

To me, Cards-Cubs is good natured more than anything because the Cards have dominated the Cubs (so why would Cards fans hate them?) and because the Cubs and their fans have embraced the "lovable losers" tag so they don't really get bent out of shape by fans reminding them that the team sucks.

As moon said there is little to hate about the Cubs team. They lose consistently. Too many of their fans are bandwagon - front running - go in the closet and hide when they lose sort of people.

                              The Cubs-Cards rivalry is weak.

There were Cards fans rooting for the Cubs everywhere in St. Louis back in 2003. What a joke.
