  • So this drunk teenager knocks on my door last night...

...and asks me if I need my lawn mowed. I can smell the booze leaking off of him. I say, "no thanks man, I've got my own mower and can take care of my lawn." He proceeds to ask me for a high five, I give it. Then he wants a hug, I decline and basically tell him to piss off. He doesn't like this. My pregnant wife gets up off the couch to see what's going on, he kind of sets to leave but still wants a hug. I close the door.

He proceeds to BANG on my door and yell FUCK YOU THEN! This really pisses me off so I jump up off the couch and open my door back up as he is walking down the stairs. He turns around and comes back up the stairs, while his little posse of thugs continues walking down the sidewalk.

I tell him to get the hell off my property and to never come back (or something to that effect) and that he has pissed me off. My heart starts beating real fast as he continues to ask for hugs and high fives. I tell him about five times to get the fuck off my porch and he doesn't move.

I then proceed to shove the little bastard off my porch, down about 5 concrete steps. This doesn't sit well with drunk boy, he comes back at me with a fury, but by this time my next door neighbor comes running over and grabs the little bastard. Little bastard proceeds to throw a punch at my middle 40s neighbor construction worker. Not a good idea little bastard.

My neighbor proceeds to put the punk on his back and choke the white out of his face with his fist cocked high above little bastard's head. I yell to his posse (who are now running back toward the scene) to get this kid outta here before he gets destroyed. The cops are called. My neighbor lets the punk up who proceeds to cry and say he misses his girlfriend.

Then takes his shirt off and taunt my neighbor as his buddies drag him away. Cops come a little later, I don't know if they arrested him or what, but it was carazy.

Just thought I'd share with you. In hindsight I probably shouldn't have shoved him down my stairs, but I was fuming with pissed off. I thought for sure I was gonna have to beat up a teenager. Weird. I'm a teacher.

I went over to my neighbor and thanked him for helping out. He said, "Man, I wanted to punch that little fucker so bad, but ya know, you'll get sued these days." He's probably right. Little bastard got the shit choked outta him though, it was pretty damned funny.

Anyway, have fun with this, or completely ignore it. I just had to vent.

Thanks. The more I think about it the more I realize how bad the situation could have been. Not cool.

All my guns are in MO. It would have been sweet to pull a shotgun out though. Fucking kids. The neighborhood is actually a nice, quiet area with a lot of families. This kind of thing never happens, except this time.

                Sometimes a quick 911 helps.

Thanks, it just totally took me off guard. I'm half asleep on the couch ya know. Then all hell breaks loose. The neighbors called the cops, they came about 10 minutes later but the kids were gone.

I remember getting plowed a couple times when I was a teen. Back then we tried our best to avoid any contact with adults.

Me as well. I remained pretty calm throughout the ordeal, and was just amazed at the stupidity of this kid. Then I thought back to some of my teen days, not my proudest moments, but still man, we stayed way away from adults, and never went walking through the neighborhood in daylight hours, knocking on doors. Idiot.

I hear you - who does expect a drunk kid wanting hugs? Certainly not I. I think you may have to get a big dog running loose in front.

Yeah, calling the police is the way to go. But I appreciate reading how a neighbor intervened.

At age 6, living in Mason OH, in a neighborhood, there were a ton of us little kids bigwheeling around at the end of our street. One Saturday twenty something dudes drive too fast through the street. One of the dads mowing his grass stops them, warns them, and the twenty somethings tell him to f-off and they peel away. Five minutes later, they're back, coming perilously close to a girl on our street. There are two of them. Same dad sees 'em, stops them, and is asked what are you going to do about it. Dad says don't come around here again, stalling them, meanwhile teen and his buddy get out of the car to put fingers in chests, thinking it's 2 vs 1. Whereupon here emerges 35 y/o dad from across the street who stands 6'7, 280, all muscle. My dad, same age, fmr Army Ranger, stands 6'4", 220, two other dads show up, one with a freaking baseball bat. This makes it 5 on 2, only punks can't get back in their car and have already said fighting words which everyone heard. Mom ushers us kids into the house. I am told personal injury and property damage ensued until cops arrived and escorted punks from neighborhood. Charges did not need to be filed.
