My record was not bad last year and in 06 i took a lot of Headquis starts. I am an innings eater who wants a good start to the year this year.

                there is a preview up
                http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?...=.jsp&c_id=stl

Troy Glaus has a simple method for keeping things rolling at the plate: hit the pitches you're supposed to hit.

Glaus has been doing that lately, and the results have followed. Over his past three games, he's 4-for-10 with three doubles, two walks and three RBIs. For a guy who started the season 3-for-18 with one extra-base hit, that's progress.

"I took a decent couple of swings today," Glaus said after Tuesday night's win over the Astros. "Had a couple good at-bats today. I had a couple opportunities where I didn't foul balls off that I've been fouling off. ... That's the key, is being able to take advantage of pitches that are in the zone and not foul them off."

He'll try to keep it going on Wednesday night when the Cardinals aim for their third straight series win and a season-best mark of five games over .500. Glaus has never faced Astros starter Chris Sampson, but his success this week in Houston has continued a trend.

In five career games at Minute Maid Park, Glaus is 7-for-20 with four doubles, a home run and two walks, for a line of .350/.409/.700 (average/on-base/slugging).
                Pitching matchup
STL: RHP Braden Looper (1-0, 1.50 ERA)
This is what the Cardinals hoped they would be getting when they moved Looper to the starting rotation last season. He was quite effective at times in '07, but often didn't resemble the ground-ball specialist he had been in previous years. But in his 2008 debut, Looper induced 12 ground-ball outs against just three in the air, a very encouraging sign as he moves into his second season of starting.

HOU: RHP Chris Sampson (0-0, 2.70 ERA)
Sampson took a no-decision but pitched well against the Cubs Thursday, holding them to two runs over 6 2/3 innings. Sampson retired 13 of the first 14 batters he faced and yielded three hits over the first six innings. The right-hander was 1-1 with a 4.26 ERA over two games against the Cardinals last year, allowing six runs over 12 2/3 innings. Lifetime vs. St. Louis, Sampson is 1-1 with a 4.15 ERA.

                Tidbits
On Tuesday night, Brad Thompson became the first Cardinals starter to allow more than two runs in a game this year. ... Jason LaRue is the only St. Louis position player without a base hit. ... Looper's RBI in his last start was the seventh of his career. ... Cardinals batters have drawn 38 walks, most in the National League, and have struck out 44 times, fourth-fewest in the league.

Well when you are 6 - 2 its easy to think a loss is right around the corner.
