Prohibition was repealed 75 years ago today. This should be a national holiday. It was one of the greatest moments in the history of our country. To celebrate, I brewed 25 gallons of beer yesterday and began drinking at 10:30 in the morning. I'm paying for it now, but I am a patriot.

Cool Poster...If you actually go on the brewery tour and not just sneak in to the tasting room, they tell you that...Former Sponsor of Kyle "The Comeback Kid" Lohse.

I'm pretty much a libertarian, so I'm not much into prohibition.
However, just for the sake of discussion, and just because one of my best friends was an alcoholic who died much too young, I wonder how many lives might have been saved had they been able to make prohibition stick. They couldn't, of course -- people like to be free to make their own choices -- but I can understand the feeling behind it. Seemed a little ironical to see the Clydesdales and the Bud p.r. people trying to turn this into a national holiday, since it hasn't even been a year since our relief pitcher got drunk and got killed, and a little more than a year since our manager was arrested for DUI.
I guess I'm sort of saying I find it a little unseemly that the Budweiser marketing people have decided to turn this into another St. Patrick's Day."There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle."
