  • Computer Nerds, I Need Your Assistance: iPod Touch

I cannot for the life of me get this POS iPod Touch to connect to my wireless router. Help. Thanks.

All I got for you is a reminder that the compact nature of the iPod Touch (and iPhone) means they don't have the same power at sniffing networks that your desktop or notebook pc will. Maybe it's out of range?

I have an Archos 605 80gig showing up today. Can't wait to see if it lives up to the hype.

Well, I was sitting right next to the router. It would say that it was connected to the router, but then when I tried to use Safari or connect to the iTunes Store, it would say that it could not find the server.

I browsed those forums, but didn't really find anything that helped.

When I try to configure the WiFi settings, there are 3 options: DHCP, BootP, and Static IP. I'm so confused.

Of those options, you'll probably want DHCP.

Who setup your router? Do you have security enabled?

No, we don't have security enabled, as no one else lives close enough to access it.
