  • Dave Duncan has on-air meltdown (UPDATED: Slaten barred til October)...

.. this afternoon w/Slaten. I can't do this one justice folks.
You have to hear it yourself if you haven't. Hopefully the
exchange is saved on KFNS.com. Wow!

Does anyone else recall when Duncan lost his mind on Bernie's
Pressbox about seven or eight years ago? Not a real stable man,
    in my opinion.

You sure you don't want to try to detail it? Maybe a couple of quotes? Description of questions asked? Some context? Anything?
If you believe in something sacrifice a hobo to it or don't bother.

So Slaten was an ass and Duncan let it get to him...too bad.

According to folks on another board, he called Duncan at home and didn't tell him he was on the air...

Of course if someone goes off on Slaten, who should care? I mean, I've never heard of Kevin Slaten going to any of the preseason training cam,ps, or even ballgames for that matter, All he seems to do is sit back and make criticisms without getting to know what's going on in person.

                      Not surprising.

And if you question Slaten on air, he hangs up on you, then calls you gay.

                      The guy is an idiot.

you guys are way off base beating on jmolina on this one. it was classic stuff.

and slaten did nothing to deserve it. duncan was just totally ignorant and off base. slaten did absolutely nothing to deserve (for that call) what duncan churned out.

it actually made duncan look like a complete idiot imo.

totally false. first thing slaten said was "dave, this is kevin slaten calling from 590 the fan. i was wondering if we could ask a few questions about the pitching staff?"

from there, duncan just went crazy.

Slaten wanted to ask him about Reyes. Duncan says, "I don't want to talk to you Kevin, You're a nasty man." Duncan accused Slaten of "making fun"
of La Russa's DUI. Which he never did. Slaten asked Duncan how come
he didn't mind coming on last month. Duncan says he didn't know it was
Slaten's show at the time. Slaten asked Duncan to give him examples
of what he said that was so nasty. Duncan fumbling his words couldn't.
Duncan then claimed he didn't know he was on the air. And if he was,
Slaten "would be in trouble." Shortly afterwards, Dunc hung up. It seems to
me all Duncan had to do was say in the first place, "I'm too busy to come on.
Maybe later." Rather than grandstanding and embarrass himself and the
Cardinals organization in the process. Not a good PR day for the Cards braintrust.

Is asking for a word for word transcription asking too much? I think not.
