  • How many miles do you put on your car per year?

As of tomorrow, I will have had my car a year and I got just over 16,100 miles on it. I did a few trips on it to Cincy, Nashville, and Indy. Went to the Lake of the Ozarks and to Columbia a few times. Then your typical driving around the STL metro area. My drive to work has been a short one (12-15 miles round trip).

I recall hearing some time ago that 12K is the "norm" for a car a year.

    What is "normal" anyways?

Maybe someone's borrowing your car at night.

    FWIW, I put on about 13-14 k a year.

9,034 country miles a year, or roughly 12,397

I drive a hundred miles round-trip to/from work every day. My mileage probably isn't typical. My car has about 95,000 on it since September of 2004.

My wife has 210K on her Subaru since 2002 - and she has another car as well. The woman must be spending an outrageous amount of time in her car, come to think of it...

We put about 20k a year on my wife's van, about 15k a year on my car. We travel a lot on church business, and visiting my wife's family.

Good lord! I thought I put a lot on my car when I lived in NC. I was off every weekend from Philly to Orlando to Tennessee to bumfuck West Virginia. In just over two years, I had 66K on it.

That sounds like me but with traveling to softball fields around the area.

We've driven to Seattle, San Diego, and Los Angeles on a regular basis. That Subaru has been to Montana and Alaska, though. Her Jeep has done LA to Seattle via Montana and Idaho, twice. It's no longer reliable enough to let it get more than 50 miles or so from the house.

I drive about 20,000 year...give or take. The good thing - my new project is only 10 miles from the house, so that will help (rumor is that I'll be here for at least the next 11 years!).
