Illustrates a really disturbing trend to me. Men who kill women and children. Since this board is predominately male - I wonder if anyone has any insight?

In this case I believe the guy simply didn't want to leave his family to endure the humiliation that his embezzelment may have caused to them. I don't think killing them was his primary thought but when he thought about how his family would be looked upon if he only took his own life I think he decided to "spare" them the potential humilation and shame the community might have levied on them.

Actually, Sueppel actually said that he didn't use the money to buy coke and at the time the search warrants were executed on his house they didn't find any cocaine in it.

I don't think he ever did coke. My theory is that he attempted to invest that money into something that isn't doing too well at the moment so if he were to be found guilty at his trial his family may have lost their house to pay back the money instead of the state seizing the investments and paying the bank back with that.

We should know more about the original embezzlement case soon when the judge closes the case. We haven't heard how he was suspected of embezzling the money nor what he spent it on.
