    Bank Transfers? Really?

    From McClatchy ...
Almost four months before Gov. Eliot Spitzer resigned in a sex scandal, a lawyer for Republican political operative Roger Stone sent a letter to the FBI alleging that Spitzer ''used the services of high-priced call girls'' while in Florida. The letter, dated Nov. 19, said Miami Beach resident Stone learned the information from ''a social contact in an adult-themed club.'' It offered one potentially identifying detail: The man in question hadn't taken off his calf-length black socks ``during the sex act.''
Stone, known for shutting down the 2000 presidential election recount effort in Miami-Dade County, is a longtime Spitzer nemesis whose political experience ranges from the Nixon White House to Al Sharpton's presidential campaign. His lawyer wrote the letter containing the call-girl allegations after FBI agents had asked to speak to Stone, though he says the FBI did not specify why he was contacted.
so what next from the talented mr. stone? (Pickler worries me more than Stone---she is a generic name you see often in the Sunday PD--often reporting his crap as ap news releases)

Yeah, they really did a number on Governor Spitzer. Y'know how he could've avoided this?

He could've not paid a bunch of money to have unprotected sex with a woman who wasn't his wife.

Where do Chuck Gandil, Buck Weaver, Joe Jackson, and Eddie Cicottte fit in here?
      Of course you do.

Very true, but if that is all that matters I hope that magazine owner that said he had dirt on a lot of republican office holders decides this is enough for him to do the same in return.

I don't much care about other folks--this is about Spitzer, who is a very big fish, probably the biggest they'll get in this sting.

That the Governor paid thousands of dollars for prostitutes makes him a hypocritical lawbreaker. That a married man insisted on unprotected sex with a prostitute makes him a scumbag of the first order.

          I hope he enjoys prison.

there is some rumbling that Roger Stone had zilch to do with anything about spitzer---he is trying to manipulate some credit to his resume.

                More detail from Roger Stone
One of the weirdest footnotes of the Eliot Spitzer scandal is that Spitzer antagonist Roger Stone — the GOP trickster known, among other things, for an allegedly unorthodox sex life — has been doing his best to take some ancillary credit for, or at least prior knowledge of, Spitzer's downfall.
A ... puzzling Miami Herald piece yesterday reported that Stone's lawyer produced a letter he claimed had been sent last November 19, in which Stone wrote that Spitzer ''used the services of high-priced call girls'' while in Florida and didn't take off his socks. Stone said he'd learned this from a conversation with another high-end call girl.
As you can gather from Matt Labash's profile, one never knows what to believe from Roger Stone. And had Eliot Spitzer not gone down earlier this month in a sex scandal, there would be very little reason to credit Stone's mutterings about his use of prostitutes.
But Spitzer did go down, so Stone's role — which is being promoted relentlessly from a series of e-mail accounts linked to Stone — is one of the interesting side stories. And a source close to Stone offered me a bit more detail, on the condition the information not be directly attributed to the source.
The source says Stone never actually met with the FBI — which supports all the reporting on the story, which doesn't mention him. He was subject to an investigation over an anonymous phone call in which somebody who sounded a lot like Stone, calling from Stone's apartment, told Eliot Spitzer's father that the son was a "psycho." (Stone has offered baroque denials for having made the call.)

                My Stone source says:
The woman who told of Spitzer's dalliances was a high priced Call Girl herself, 48DD-24-36 and non-political. In fact she said "Eliot Spitzer the governor of New Jersey" until [Stone] asked her whether she meant the Steamroller or Corzine.

Such ladies are found at the bars at gentlemen's clubs. Talking to them is not a crime.

[Stone] did not know the name of Emperor's Club VIP and she would not say what agency they both worked for. She did, however, provide enough detail to warrant a letter to the Feds.

When the NY Times broke the story about the $5500 a hour call girl ring being busted [Stone] figured it all out — not until then.
                Go figure.
