I had some pretty amazing corned beef and cabbage at Maggie O's a few weeks ago. It was cheap, too; like $7 for dinner.

The quality of the corned beef I got (free) at Darvins and at Crystal tavern was excellent. I played 4 hours Friday Night, and both bars had entertainment from 2 p.m. until 1 a.m. Saturday. (I did 6.5 hours without a break at Crystal tavern). The thing that bothers me about corned beef---are they just overseasoning and overcooking what could have been a really delicious steak?

No it is made from Beef Brisket, it must be cooked long, low and slow to make it tender.

I just say NO to Corned beef and cabbage. The corned beef is ok one time or two but no cabbage please.

We love a smoked beef brisket tho. YUM.

Just got back from Sam's. Was tempted to buy some corned beef but ended up just picking up a couple of nice, big chuck roasts, one of which is going to be slow cooked on the grill in about an hour.
