If the cops are confused, how are we supposed to know what's going on? This makes no sense.

Bellefontaine Neighbors Police Chief Robert Pruett is concerned about enforcing speed limits after the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) implements variable speed limits on Interstate 270 this spring.
MoDOT will start using a system in May that changes the speed limits according to the traffic flow on I-270. The change is planned for the entire I-270 corridor from Riverview Drive to Interstate 255. State officials say the new system will maintain the flow of traffic.
"Don't be surprised in May if the speed limit changes every five minutes," said Pruett at Thursday's meeting of the board of aldermen. "It might be 45 one time, then 50, then 55."He wonders how police can enforce a speed limit that changes every five minutes.
On March 25, MoDOT will meet with the various law enforcement agencies that patrol I-270. State and police officials will discuss ways to enforce the variable speed limits. One idea includes a high police presence on the interstate. Officials also have suggested that there be a two-week grace period with only warnings issued by police.
