  • Where's a good place to get a car battery?

the one I have is 6 and a half years old and my car guy suggested I start looking for a new one. It seems to be doing okay, but if I see a sale or something then I should jump on it.

Should I go to Walmarts even though I don't like them? Autozone? NTB?

I tried going there once and they did not offer batteries anymore. They told me to go to ITB.

sears wants $109 for a 3 year warranty battery. Autozone wants $64 for a 7 year warranty with a 2 year free replacement. I'm leaning towards AZ.

I would go to AZ personally. They may even charge yours for you to see if it will hold it.

Is that a maintenance-free battery? Definitely want that. They still sell the ones that you have to add water to. I believe AZ has thouse.

Dear God, KBF here. I'd just like to say thanks, once again, for allowing Dusty Baker and I to live during the same time period. Every time I think he's given me his last gift -- overpitching Prior in the playoffs, getting cocky in Game 6 vs. the Angels, blowing another game for the Cubs -- he does something stupid like pitching to Albert Pujols. Thy will be done, baby!!!!!

If you don't plan to own the car longer than 2 more years, I wouldn't bother spending a lot of money on a battery. The last several batteries I bought were from Walmart, and they never gave me a problem.

At that price, I am guessing it's maintenance free.

In that case, I would get the AutoZone battery. They'll even install it for free, won't they?
