Looking at those numbers, it seems apparent for the Democrat that whoever brings out the base will win Ohio.
Kerry won almost 60% of the independents in Ohio. It's hard to see much improvement on that number. Rather, it seems that the Democrat simply must get more self-identified Democrats to vote, and possibly pick up some Republican votes.
At this point, it's too early to tell who will best motivate the base in November. Depends on how the nomination goes down. From this day forward, I no longer shall tinker with the machinery of death.
For more than 20 years I have endeavored-indeed, I have struggled-along with a majority of this Court, to develop procedural & substantive rules that would lend more than the mere appearance of fairness to the death penalty endeavor.
I feel morally and intellectually obligated simply to concede that the death penalty experiment has failed.
The path the Court has chosen lessens us all. I dissent.

Thanks for the responses. This thing about whether black voters devoted to Obama or female voters devoted to Hillary will sit out the election, or scale down their efforts---anything that significantly alters turnout in November has states where it is more important than other states. Ohio is one, that is why I took a closer look at it.
I hope Obama is able to win---without it seeming to be the result of a co-ercive threat from his level of black support.
If Hillary wins---it will have to be with a clear perception that she has a better chance of beating McCain. Any other way of prevailing will make her lose in places like Ohio.
Answering my question in the title---at this time, it looks like the answer would be Clinton.v

The Democrats could run Osama in Ohio, and still win.
