  • Congratulations, Democrats!

Last night pretty much guaranteed that at least two of the following four groups will be pissed off and alienated no matter who wins the Democratic nomination:

    1. Blacks.
    2. Young people.
    3. Hispanics.
    4. Women.

My question for our non-white Lounge brothers and sisters -- or for anyone else who wants to take a swing -- is: What will you do if the super-delegates push Hillary over the top:

    1. Join a third party.
    2. Sit out the election.
    3. Vote for McCain.
    4. Swallow hard and vote for Hillary.

This is what we Democrats do best, fight each other. That's what happens when you have a party as diverse as the Democrats. We aren't all going to agree very often. And by the way, young voters don't show up on election day so they can piss off.

Does anyone know if the youth vote showed up last night? I haven't seen any analysis of that as of yet.

Swallow hard and vote for Hillary.

But, I would probably stop paying attention to the race, unless McCain gets his swagger back.

He needs to quit giving speeches on the same night that Hillary and Obama do. He looks and sounds like he's 150 years old.

I fixed this for you. It looks correct now.

I qualify as group #2 and I honestly don't know what I'd do. I'd probably be leaning towards swallowing hard and voting for Hillary but could easily be swayed to voting for McCain. And if in the end I didn't feel comfortable with either I'd write-in Tony LaRussa. But I certainly would not not vote.

                        Option 4 with a caveat - I wouldn't campaign - I wouldn't care - If it rained I wouldn't go vote.

Option 5 would be my real option. Think about moving out of the country.

Politics and racism have a long history - In the Compromise of 1877 the Republicans sold Blacks down the river for the presidency.

Should the Democrats make a similar move - I am prepared to do what's best for my children.
