  • This is the greatest rock thing I've seen in a while...

The band is Japan's own answer to "what would you get if you crossed Kyuss with My Bloody Valentine?", a group called Boris.

    They rock.

Wata is the smokin' hot chick on the Gibson. She is perhaps the greatest female guitar player ever. I'm not sure there's anyone close.

And the triple stack of orange amps? Speechless. This is the coolest thing I've seen in a long, long while.

    I like cheese.

I've tried for quite a while to get into this band, but I just can't do it...

For me, Japanese hardcore begins and ends with Envy.

Is this really THAT difficult to do? Not many good women guitar players out there.

Boris isn't a hardcore band, and never has been one, so I'm not sure what point it is you're making.

Well, I guess I should just say Japanese music...Boris does incorporate some punk and hardcore elements into their music, but it's definitely not the basis for their sound...they did start out that way, though - way back in the early 90s...not sure what they sound like nowadays...I heard some stuff from Absolutego a while back and wasn't too impressed...I didn't really pay attention to them after that...

I definitely need to see Envy at some point before I'm dead.

I like early Boris better than their drone metal releases. Amplifer Worship is very good. Their next release, Smile, is supposed to have vocals on every track, which should make it more like Amplifer Worship, but more experimental.

These folks are playing Pitchfork this year up here in Chicago. Should be interesting...

Good stuff. I found this of Lita, who can stake a claim to that title.

This seems like a good place to put this...

I saw the Foo Fighters last week at the Forum...that was the best rock show I've seen in a while. I highly recommend seeing them. I think I'm going come to St. Louis to see them in mid-July.
