    Speaking to the San Francisco Chronicle about his former Oakland teammate Mark McGwire's suspected use of steroids, Giants hitting coach Carney Lansford, a former Cardinals coach, said: "I honestly don't believe he started doing that until Tony La Russa, Dave McKay, Dave Duncan and I left for St. Louis (in 1996). He got a lot bigger then. If he started doing it, I believe he started it after we left."

    sure would be nice, especially since dozens of other players have admitted it recently, if mac would clear this whole thing up for everyone and come clean.

      — No free passes to the Blues, either. They have scored four goals in the last five games. How bad is that? The Manchester United soccer club of the English Premier League has 11 goals over its last five games. The Blues are scoring less than a soccer team.

      And I don't even follow the Blues that closely, but I did read a story on them the other day and thought it was weird how the coach would speak so poorly of one of his players (Perron) in the press. Bernie thought so too, it looks like.
