  • Traffic and Road Construction Thread

So I have a quick trip from Chicago to STL (actually Chesterfield) coming up that I have to drive and someone told me they made the same drive last weekend and said that there is really bad construction on 270 going west just off of 55, and that 55 to 64/40 is bad because of construction as well.

They advised going all the way down to I-44, which seems extreme.

Is the construction info accurate? Are there local roads that would make more sense then going all the way to I-44?

Any of the locals have any good advice? It's greatly appreciated.
    Of course you do.

Avoid 270/255, 64/40, and 55 at all costs.

44 and 70 are your best bets to get through without any delays of construction.

Why don't you just come in on 44 at the 55/64/70 merge then hit 270 North or take 44 to 141?

When a group of us drove to Chiicago last weekend, we took Ill-140 from Bethalto (our last pickup) to I55. 140 runs into 255 south, which intersects with 270 west of the construction area.
