I got worried about his mental health seriously when I saw an interview with him that he flat out stated that he was too worried about ending up like Darryl Kile if he worked too hard.
That's not a bad thing; it does mean that he can't pitch.
One thing trumps another and it's not to blame Dustin, but he needs some help. Or he needed some help at the time of the interview (he was still a Cardinal but soon released, I think).
I don;'t know how I would or could deal. I still demand (not command) Cardinal respect from the Angel fans for 2002.
I am not an athlete. I don't know what it would have done to me if I were, but I know what it did to me as a fan. Baseball will never be the same because of that one stupid horrible week in baseball. But it made me better. I think.Sometimes elections have positive consequences!

Did either of you go to the memorial service at Busch? First time i had ever cried in public before. Very very sad.

I didn't want to be near people anymore.
I was in Chi that friday. We were on our way home Saturday. I made us all stop for lunch before the game so that we could time our exit with the start of the game. And we got dead air. It was all confusion. It was so horrible.
At least we understood why Jack had to go. There are things I have to accept and there are things that affect everything. Even baseball.
I spent the next few days in my room. Alone. I only talked to people when I absolutely had to.
I dropped the Angel fans off at the airport and politely requested they never come back. They knew I was kidding. Kind of.Sometimes elections have positive consequences!
