  • Need DVD burning help

I want to make a "backup" of some of my DVDs. I assumed my PC would come with the correct software to do this, however it seems to be missing. I do have a few programs on here to make my own DVDs, but nothing to copy one.

Does anyone know how I can do this? Do I need special software?

    Decrypt the DVD

Shrink to Fit onto One Disc

Burn Using Nero or Pinnacle Instant Copy

And you won't have to spend a single penny.

I bought DVD XCopy Platinum last week, just before they lost a suit in San Francisco. Fantastic program. There is some freeware out there: DVD Decrypter and DVD shrink. I tried them first but they didn't play on my home DVD player, only on my computer. They had links on TechTV-Screensavers website last week and should still be there.

        DVD X Copy Platinum

That will do everything that the three programs I listed will do.

        DVD X Copy Xpress

        Fewer features, but less expensive.

It's all illegal. You are all going to hell. Feel free to confess to the lounge spiritual leader if you want to repent.
If you believe in something sacrifice a hobo to it or don't bother.

            Thanks guys.

GSB, Nero and Pinnacle seem to cost money. Are there free versions?

It's not illegal to backup DVDs that you've bought, is it?

That's where the argument is. 321 Studios, who make DVD XCopy, feel that it is legal under copyright law. The movie studios are claiming it's illegal. I haven't heard a definitive answer yet.

I'm sure Sodom was your favorite place to visit.

Is it or is it not illegal?
                    To answer your questions,

                    1. Yes, but I'm a big fan of salt.
                    2. It's not illegal, if you worship Satan.

Ok, it might be worth buying software. That's way too involved, especially for DVD-9.

                        Thanks for the info.

I was going to buy DVD X COPY last weekend, but I decided against it in the event that FedEx fucked up my computer delivery.

                          Glad I didn't now.
When you say to your neighbor, "We're having a loud party on Saturday night if that's alright with you," what you really mean is, "We're having a loud party on Saturday night."
