No attacks? No admonishment of 'she's guilty and needs an asterisk' by her records?

You serious? I hardly think that this should be classified as a 'who cares'....

If a major star of the US Track & Field program gets nailed, its a huge story, even if she's not proven guilty yet...

SAN FRANCISCO -- A nutritionist charged with distributing illegal drugs to pro athletes told federal agents he gave steroids to track stars Marion Jones and Tim Montgomery in exchange for endorsements, the San Francisco Chronicle reported Saturday night.

What about the 007 Bonds' standard? Unless we have videotape of Marion Jones injecting a substance, clearly marked "STEROIDS" on the syringe, then we can't possibly know that Jones used steroids. After all, she denied it.

So Conte points the finger at Jones and Montgomery, and the trainer implicates Jones and BONDS. At least Jones and Montgomery were clean in their tests. Presumably Conte will state that the steroid was the previousy undetectable THG, and then Jones, Montgomery and Bonds will all say that if we were using steroids, it was without our knowledge. We trusted Conte. We had no idea. None.
From this day forward, I no longer shall tinker with the machinery of death.

For more than 20 years I have endeavored-indeed, I have struggled-along with a majority of this Court, to develop procedural & substantive rules that would lend more than the mere appearance of fairness to the death penalty endeavor.

I feel morally and intellectually obligated simply to concede that the death penalty experiment has failed.

The path the Court has chosen lessens us all. I dissent.

If it was THG was it illegal in track and field at the time they say she used it, or was it legal like it was in baseball?

I think you've given this one enough of a chance to get some traction, right?

No one gives a crap about T&F.

Jones' ex-husband, tim montgomery, got banned for a year (I think) for using THG...

And maybe they should yell about it even MORE than they do about Barry, first because it was legal in baseball. But mostly because we have this feeling that the Olympics are supposed to be somehow pure, or at least American athletes are, We would be the first to joke about how dirty the old Soviet block nations were.

                          Yeah whatever.

It's been posted for more than 24 hours and garnered a few comments. Your indignation over the Bonds thing doesn't transfer to this because no one cares about T&F. Simple as that.

Now, had the check been from Bonds ...
