I knew there was a reason I liked Frank Zappa.

Great lyrics page...........The guy was a musical icon but never took himself seriously...........

One of the best concerts I've been too was Frank Zappa at the Wash U. quadrangle...........Why was it there.........Because no promoter would risk having him at a hall........Didn't think they'd sell enough tickets..........Zappa had it there and drew close to 4000 outside on a cold October night............People were on the roof of the quad.........It was awesome.........

Frank could have skipped St. Louis altogether but decided to play for his devoted fans...........He was brutally honest about his feelings on the local promoters.........Which at the time was monopolized by Contemporary Productions............

Never seen Zappa myself. One of the few greats I've missed.

When you get beyond his tremendous talent, he apparently had a great attitude and approach to the music business.

Another side from that concert that came to mind was he dedicated "Broken Hearts are for Assholes" to all the local promoters.............He said something to the effect that the numbers of tickets sold to this venue showed what assholes the local promoters were.......Highly emphasizing the "You're an asshole, asshole" line while figuratively pointing to the promoters........

Fun, fun concert but it was close to freezing on a cold clear autumn night........Thank god for consumables.........
