Lets use Iraq as a proving ground,
If Bush had used that as a selling point from day one, he might have had a lot more support.

              what do you think airshark?

he is just trying to rile up the "conservatives" thinking this nuclear testing thing is wholly republican.

IMO, since WWII, the US has attempted to engage in politically correct wars. Starting with Korea. then to Vietnam, on through both Iraqi conflicts, we seem to have taken on the idea of trying to play the good guy in a war time scenario. We seem to want to appease people, instead of going in with the intent of kicking some serious ass. I think we're getting more of our troops killed as a result. While we're trying to play "the nice guy", the opposition takes advantage of our restraint.

Either we enter these conflicts with the intent on destroying the place, or, we stay the hell out.

Why are tactical nukes never seriously
                  considered?

Because they are unnecessary, that's why. When a regiment of Soviet armor comes over a hill and you have to kill a hundred tanks in a hurry, tac nukes make sense. When you can demolish any array of enemy troops in front of you with a fraction of the conventional firepower you have on hand, you don't need tac nukes and all the strings that are attached.
