  • Yan had a 4-inning save tonight

only 35 pitches, only 1 hit and 1 walk. no runs. somewhere, TLR is saying "told you so."

How many gallons did he sweat tonight?

I've never seen a human sweat as much as he does before.

How do you win 17-3 and get a save? What did he save?

you can get a save in any game. i think you just have to record as many outs as what you're winning by when you enter the game. so like if you're team is winning by 7, a guy would have to come in at the latest with 2 outs in the 7th, leaving 7 outs to go, to get the save.

( 2 ) He is not the winning pitcher; and

( b ) He enters the game, regardless of the count, with the potential tying run either on base, or at bat, or on deck (that is, the potential tying run is either already on base or is one of the first two batsmen he faces); or

( c ) He pitches effectively for at least three innings. No more than one save may be credited in each game.

Yan came in the game in the top of the 6th inning with a 4-3 lead. The Tigers scored 11 runs in the bottom of the 6th and added 2 more later. It was a beautiful thing.
