  • Indu? Sausages, Chips and Beans

The planet is turning in reverse.

My local butcher is selling 'light' Linconlnshire sausages and, outrageously unexpected, while trying to keep my waistline under my age, I've come to love them.

Only 50 grams of fat vs the usual 65 plus.

I may be able to fly home buying only one seat for a change :-)

    Off to the kitchen.

I had a peanut butter sandwich for lunch with chips and peach mango salsa.

Yummy. I should have had a peanut butter and banana sandwich though, you know.

My aunt had mango salsa the other day at her house.

It was strange. Do you like it? Do you make it yourself?

What all goes in it? She had onions and mango and some other junk. I didnt have balls to try it.

I buy it in the kooky food section of schnucks. It's labelled medium hot which I guess is correct...it definitely has some heat to it...about as much as I can handle.

I love it though. It's kind of a hot sweet salsa and is a cool change from tomato type salsa.

I used it to cook with too the other day. The other night I put it in with my chicken and onions and green peppers and tomatoes for a southwest chicken wrap. It was so good. I like it when I trip and fall into a good cooking idea.

My less adventurous friends wouldn't eat it at my MNF group this year. Wouldn't even try it. So I kept getting it for the nights I hosted ... just out of spite, you know.

DaLode was clearly talking about sausage, and you goofs have turned it into a salsa thread? What is wrong with you people.

Peach salsa rules, but only if they go crazy with the peppers.
If you believe in something sacrifice a hobo to it or don't bother.
